• Reduce demand, systems can reduce the power they consume e.g. after start up, voltage and lighting optimisation

Each site offers on site generation opportunities.  Use all available resources to meet energy needs before importing shortfalls from energy suppliers.  Each site has some or all of:

 

• Wind, Solar, Hydro, Air and Ground, source may be appropriate.
• Solar Light,  Use natural light instead of artificial where possible, light tubes for example
• Waste streams, can often be converted into an energy resources and mitigate disposal costs
• Energy Recovery, processes use recoverable energy e.g. air conditioning in computer rooms
